Spring Competition 

In Mid-April RMTA hosts a two day competition for piano solo, voice, strings, duets, or ensembles. Students are asked to play two contrasting pieces from memory for a judge. Early Beginners, Beginners and Late Beginners choose one piece.

Four Superior PLUS students may be selected from each category, the first three of which will compete in a Finals Competition Recital the following day. Judges in the Preliminary level should choose one piece from the student’s program to be performed in the Final’s Competition.

All students will receive a critique. S+ recipients will receive a rosette ribbon. Finals competitors will not receive a rosette. Trophies will be awarded to Finals competitors. 

Finals Competition Recital: One judge will choose 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each level. Critiques will be written only by the preliminary competition judges. The Finals Competition Recital is open to the public.
